Hi. I’m Deb, a seasoned UX / Product Designer in Atlanta, GA.
Growing up, I’d re-decorate my bedroom. Every. Single. Weekend. Always changing something, improving it to be more usable and appealing. This passion led me to study Interior Design, which evolved with technology into a career were I enjoy transforming digital experiences.
With a degree in Multimedia Technology (before “UX” was a household name) and as a Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), I’ve practiced Product and Experience Design since 2001 in Retail, IT, HCM/HR Sofware, Travel, Finance, and Healthcare, and am versed at integrating into Agile teams taking products and experiences from inception to deployment.
I love learning how others think and behave, am always asking “why”, and advocate for research to provide actionable insights. I’m collaborative, hands-on, and a natural mentor and coach in UX strategy, UX research, product design, interaction design, information architecture, ux writing, prototyping, and mobile design.
My Process
UNDERSTAND the problem and empathesize with the user. Some activities here are Heuristic Analysis, a Site Audit, Personas, Journey Maps, User and Stakeholder Interviews and Competitive Analysis.
DEFINE and reframe the problem. Diagrams and task flows are created for clarity on use cases, scope and information architecture.
IDEATE and brainstorm every idea, good and bad. I take pen to paper and start sketching, sharing along the way, eventually evolving to higher fidelity wireframes.
TEST designs with real users. Wireframes are converted to clickable prototypes for usability testing. The feedback is consolidated, prioritized and designs are delivered for development.
